Upskilling Door Supervisor Course
Course duration: 2 days
This course is for anyone who wishes to renew their door supervising license. It also applies to those who gained their qualification before June 2010 or anyone whose qualification lacked a Physical intervention module.
Course content –
Unit 1: Physical Intervention skills for the private security industry
This unit covers a range of topics including: physical interventions, reducing risk of harm during physical interventions, non-aggressive physical skills of protection, non-pain related standing, holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive ones, and lastly good practices to follow after any physical interventions.
Unit 2: Safety Awareness Unit for Door Supervisors
This unit covers: issues regarding counter terrorism, first aid situations, legislations and rules concerning children and young people, keeping vulnerable people safe, queue management and venue capacity duties.
Assessment – You will be assessed via a multiple choice exam and a practical physical intervention assessment.
On Successful completion of the course – You will have renewed your SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
