Course duration – completed online at own pace (typically completed in less than a day).
Infection control and prevention is necessary for many workers whose work could put them at risk of contracting or passing on an infection. Some workers who are at greater risk of transferring infections include those who work in healthcare settings, animal or human waste cleaners and veterinarians. Although infections are easily passed on in such premises, it is also easily avoidable if proper preventative measures are put in place.
Course content – The aim of the course is to give learners the understanding of the process of preventing infections from spreading. This will be in the form of self-paced online training that covers how infectious bacteria are transferred between hosts and their sources. This will include training such as proper hand washing procedures, correct disposal of waste, wound dressing and cleaning activities. To test the learners understanding of the course they will be given an online assessment at the end of the training.
